Senior Management Experience

I am currently a member of the CNNIC leadership team, serving as the chief scientist. I have served as the director of the CNNIC Technology Department and the chief network security officer. I have led CNNIC's technical research, system construction and operation, IP address registration management, .CN domain name business operations, etc. The relevant team has more than 100 people. I serve as the Secretary-General of the Internet Infrastructure Resources Working Committee of the Internet Society of China, leading the working committee to promote the development and application of IPv6/RPKI and DNS in China, and continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Internet community.

Additionally, I have served on the ATTLD Board member as Treasurer and am the current Executive Council member of APNIC.

Nominee statement

I am deeply honored to be nominated for the APNIC Executive Council. In 2023, I had the privilege of joining the APNIC EC and have participated in many important activities of APNIC over the past two years, such as the formulation of a new strategic plan, the amendment of the bylaws, and the development and approval of numerous policies. I have a profound understanding of the importance of APNIC to the Asia-Pacific Internet community. As a current member of the APNIC EC, I feel a great sense of responsibility and am proud of the mission entrusted to me.

Over twenty years of work experience at CNNIC has provided me with the opportunity to engage in long-term work related to IP, AS, and DNS. I have accumulated extensive experience and achieved remarkable results in the areas of technical research, policy formulation, business development, and international cooperation. In terms of RPKI, as early as 2015, I led the team to complete the writing and release of China's first "White Paper on RPKI Environment Construction." Subsequently, I successively led CNNIC's research on RPKI technology development and achieved the deployment and trial operation of China's first RPKI service in 2017. I am currently promoting the large-scale deployment of RPKI in China. In terms of IPv6, I have actively participated in and promoted the large-scale deployment of IPv6 in China, organized and served as a judge for the selection of the second China IPv6 Technology Application Innovation Competition's Strong Foundation Track. In terms of DNS, I have led the team in developing a world-leading domain name service platform, with the core services of.CN domain maintaining 100% availability for 11 consecutive years.

Based on my understanding of the importance of APNIC, I solemnly accept the nomination. I am confident that through my leadership, experience, and skills, I can contribute to realizing APNIC's vision and providing better services to its members. I also look forward to promoting to the interests of the APNIC community and the development of the internet in the Asia-Pacific region through my efforts.

Reason for nomination

Dr. Anlei Hu has a profound professional background in computer science and the internet field, with extensive management, operational, and technical experience in internet infrastructure resources such as DNS, IP addresses, and AS numbers, achieving numerous significant accomplishments.

Dr. Anlei Hu serves as the Chief Scientist at CNNIC, being an important member of the CNNIC leadership team and an expert in the fields of IP, RPKI, and DNS. In terms of IP addresses and AS numbers, he actively promotes the allocation and application of IPv6 addresses in China, contributing significantly to the large-scale deployment of IPv6 addresses in China and their global adoption. He has led CNNIC’s research and experimental deployment of RPKI technology and is currently promoting its large-scale deployment in China. In DNS operation and management, he has achieved the .CN domain becoming the world’s largest ccTLD for 11 consecutive years, leading the technical team to build an internationally leading service platform for .CN ccTLD.

Dr. Anlei Hu is one of the important leaders of the Chinese internet community, serving as the Secretary-General of the Internet Infrastructure Resources Working Committee of the Internet Society of China. Under his leadership, the committee covers the main users of IP addresses and AS numbers in the Chinese internet community, dedicated to the allocation, management, and development of China’s internet infrastructure resources, promoting exchange and sharing between the Chinese internet community and the international internet community, especially with APNIC, and fostering unity and cooperation within the Asia-Pacific internet community.

Dr. Anlei Hu is an active contributor to the international internet community. Over the years, he has actively participated in activities of international organizations such as ICANN and APNIC, having served as a director and treasurer of APTLD, establishing friendly and productive relationships with related communities and their members, and possessing rich experience in international exchange and cooperation. As a current Executive Committee member of APNIC, since 2023, he has established good working relationships with the APNIC community and the APNIC Secretariat, participating in many important and innovative works of APNIC over the past two years, and performing excellently in fulfilling his duties as an Executive Committee member.

Dr. Anlei Hu possesses outstanding leadership and extensive experience, and is passionate about serving the APNIC community. His candidacy for APNIC EC will be beneficial to the sustainable and healthy development of the community.
